ICC T20 World Cup 2012 is going to the number four season of the competition of World Twenty20 of the ICC. It is an international tournament of cricket’s shortest version. The much awaited sports tournament is going to be hosted by Sri Lanka which one of the leading cricketing nations of the world. The tournament will start from the 18th of September and run until October 7thof 2012. ICC has already posted the schedule of the matches. ICC World cup T20 2012 is going to be the very first tournament of World Twenty20 cricket that will be held inside Asia. The first tournament was hosted by South Africa and the next two tournaments were held respectively in England and West Indies.
There will be three teams in each of the four groups in the preliminary round. Former champions, India and the team of England will be in one group along with Afghanistan who had been a runner up in the qualifier round of World Twenty20 of ICC. ICC T20 World Cup 2012 will have Ireland who had been the champions of the qualifiers in the group that will have Australia and West Indies. Other groups will see Bangladesh, New Zealand and Pakistan together in one and then Zimbabwe, South Africa and Sri Lanka in the other one. The announcement regarding the fixtures of the matches were made on the 21st of September in 2011 by the ICC. The tournament’s logo was unveiled on that very day and the logo is called “ Modern Spin”. ICC T20 World Cup 2012 will be full of anticipation and some great actions from some of the best teams in the world. The first season was won by India, the second season saw Pakistan as the champions and the final season was won by England. Ireland has shown some quality potential in their previous matches and is expected to strike as an emerging underdog.
